The P6 and P7’s had a wonderful morning practising their operatic talents at the Scottish Opera workshop this week. They will be performing Tam o’ Shanter by Robert Burns in a couple of weeks, which we are all looking forward to!
P6-7 all competed in the Scottish Minibridge Championships (North) today 19th April 2016. For a description and pictures follow this link.
This year’s Science Day was based on Architecture because this year is the International Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design.
We all came to school dressed as builders or buildings. (I also saw an interior designer and two lady architects; Odile Deq and Zaha Hadid)
We each bought in £1 which will be donated to Article 25. They are a charity named after Article 25 of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which shows that adequate, dignified buildings and housing are fundamental to our human rights. Registered Charity Number: 1112621
The day began and finished with presentations from real life architects; Jill and Graham. Thank you sooooooo very much to absolutely everyone who helped , it was a truly memorable day.

Every Wednesday since the Christmas Break the P1-3 and P6-7 classes have enjoyed a 30 minute “reading together” session. Research has proven that peered reading can help towards greater attainment in reading, better social interactions and improvement in higher order questioning. The children involved have mostly welcomed the idea and look forward to sharing their stories with their reading partners.
From Nursery to P7, Hopscotch productions kept the children (and adults!) thoroughly encapsulated with their witty and vibrant performance of Sleeping Beauty.
Poor Princess Rosie was tricked by the evil Red Fairy to prick her finger and sleep for One Hundred Years but thanks to Lester the Jester and the kind White Fairy (and the help of our children!) they managed to break the spell. Pheww!! and we all lived happily ever after…..
Congratulations to Brogan and Jack for coming first and third in the show at the weekend with their decorated flower pots. Come back soon to see pics of theirs and everyone else’s work. They were all marvellous! Thank you to Frau Kluen, Mrs Blake and Ben’s mum especially for making our entries possible 🙂
Our latest class project is all about crofting. So that we don’t fill up the school website with our work, Ms Francis has created a totally separate blog for our activities to be recorded on. Click the Mini Crofters logo (Which Reece created!) below for you to follow if you’re interested!
